Pope Leo to Visit World Food Programme Headquarters
ROME – His Holiness Pope Leo XIV will visit the Rome headquarters of the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) on Monday 22 June 2026, where he will address WFP staff around the world as well as members of the organization’s Executive Board.
The visit will spotlight the unprecedented global hunger needs impacting the world’s most vulnerable populations. WFP is the leading humanitarian agency saving lives in emergencies and using food assistance to help build pathways to peace, stability and prosperity.
For WFP staff serving in some of the world’s most difficult environments, and for the millions of vulnerable people WFP supports, the Pope’s visit is a powerful message of solidarity and recognition.
The visit coincides with the 30th anniversary of WFP’s Executive Board, which has provided governance, intergovernmental support and policy direction to WFP’s programmes and operations for three decades.
